It's been a rough day...the bright spots were the corn nuggets and the $2.50 popsicle.
We have corn nuggets at the "Barf-teria" at work for lunch so that made the work day a bit more tolerable. Even though the Facebook quiz confirmed that I am a true Yankee, I've grown to love Southern food. Who knew you could fry corn? It's got it all, the right texture, crunchiness, and creamy in the center...and best of all, it's a veggie!
And after work, Quentin and I were heading to volunteer at a local clinic and while we were on the way, I remembered Jen recommending this popsicle place called
Las Paletas. So it's a $2.50 popsicle but it's worth it. They have your typical flavors like strawberry, chocolate, vanila, but also some unique ones like cucumber, hibiscus, tamarind, and chocolate wasabi. I didn't want to be boring but also not that adventurous, so I went for the chocolate chili and it was great. You get the rich chocolate flavor but also a hint of chili powder that you can feel the kick at the back of your throat. Everything's hand made and it's a great shop - I gotta go back to try the different flavors.
I heart corn nuggets! Okay, so I can't wait to try the popsicle...but Chocolate chili...seriously? That's gross!
